About the Choir

The Chamber Choir Värinä (in English ”Vibration” or, pun intended, ”In Colour”) is a mixed voices choir located in Helsinki, Finland. The singers share a passion for singing and a love towards (high class) choral music.

The Choir was formed in August 2013, when a group of well-experienced choir singers wanted to create a new home for their singing activities beyond the student choir years. For the thirty singers choral singing is a joy and a passion.

The Choir prepares for concerts by working in periods before an appearance. The repertoire consists mainly of classical choral music from centuries ago up to today. We want to share our enjoyment and pleasure of choral music with both experienced audiences and new, curious listeners. You are warmly welcome to attend our concerts!

About the Conductor

Noora Hirn, the founder and the conductor of the Choir, has studied choral conducting with e.g. Jani Sivén, Rita Varonen and Seppo Murto. For the time being, she studies at the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences with D.Mus. Kari Turunen. In addition to Värinä, Hirn has conducted e.g. Vaskivuori Upper Secondary High School's chamber choir and Kumpulan kuoro. She sings herself and is the assistant conductor in the chamber choir Kampin Laulu.
